Re-engineering and LEAN Management

GEODIS offers two complementary approaches to help customers improve the efficiency of their supply chains.

Re-engineering

Re-engineering involves a radical – and often disruptive – redesign of both the business processes and the logistics network in place to support these processes. This top-down initiative might involve completely new modes, technologies and operating structures, with the aim of delivering significant benefits with a limited lead time.

LEAN management: a focus on continuous improvement

In contrast, LEAN management is about evolution rather than revolution, and is a process of continuous improvement that has no fixed end-point. GEODIS uses a range of LEAN tools, such as Value Stream Mapping, to identify any unnecessary process stages that can be removed, thereby improving productivity. We also use other LEAN tools, including 8D root cause analysis, to create value for customers.
